Who we are
Joanne Powell
Joanne Powell is a native of Texas and graduate of Cornell University. She began her more than twenty-year career in consumer packaged goods advertising and marketing at Procter and Gamble, then the Seven-Up Company. Ms. Powell moved to Connecticut to join TracyLocke, an Omnicom Agency, where in her last position as Partner and Global Director, Client Services, she lead the Pepsi-Cola North America and Pepsi International businesses. She is currently a screenwriter and partner in Nutmeg Pictures, a Connecticut-based production company; she co-wrote and produced the comedy feature FILMCAMP, available in summer of 2007.
Garret C. Maynard
Born and raised in Connecticut, Mr. Maynard began his career in the film industry in 1982 when he attended the UCLA School of Film & Television, then graduated in 1987 from the USC School of Cinema & Television. After working nine years in the industry in Los Angeles, he returned to Connecticut to establish The Gary-Paul Agency, a literary agency and production company (thegarypaulagency.com). He has since produced three award-winning films, and was recently nominated for a 2004 Emmy in cinematography. Mr. Maynard has taught film production and screenwriting at Yale, Wesleyan, and Sacred Heart Universities. He is also a partner in Nutmeg Pictures, a Connecticut-based film production company; he co-wrote, directed and co-produced the comedy feature FILMCAMP, available in summer 2007
